The recombinant cynomolgus CD80 is a disulfide-linked homodimer. The reduced monomer comprises 449 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 50.9 KDa.The apparent molecular mass of the protein is approximately 65 and 44 KDa respectively in SDS-PAGE.

T-lymphocyte activation antigen CD80, also known as Activation B7-1 antigen, CTLA-4 counter-receptor B7.1, BB1, CD80 and CD28LG, is a single-pass type I membrane protein which is expressed on activated B-cells, macrophages and dendritic cells.CD80 / CD28LG contains one?Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain and Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. CD80 / CD28LG is involved in the costimulatory signal essential for T-lymphocyte activation. CD80 / CD28LG is a very potent co-stimulatory factor which is required for complete T-cell activation. T-cell proliferation and cytokine production is induced by the binding of CD28 or CTLA-4 to this receptor.
