The recombinant mouse IL17RA/Fc is a disulfide-linked homodimer. The reduced monomer comprises 532 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 60.3 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of the protein is approximately 67-77 and 118 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions due to glycosylation.

IL17RA / IL17R / CD217蛋白背景綜述

Interleukin-17 receptor A, also known as IL-17 receptor A, IL-17RA, IL17RA and IL17R, is an ubiquitous type I  membrane glycoprotein that binds with low affinity to interleukin 17A (IL17A). IL17A and its receptor play a pathogenic role in many inflammatory and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. IL17A binds to a type I  cell surface receptor called IL17R of which there are at least three variants IL17RA, IL17RB, and IL17RC. IL17RA is a widely expressed glycoprotein that plays a central role in inflammatory responses. IL17R mRNA exhibits a broad tissue distribution, and has been detected in virtually all cells and tissues tested. The aa sequence of mouse IL17RA is 69% identical to the human IL17R. Within the extracellular domain, mouse IL17RA shares 72% aa sequence identity with human IL17RA. IL17RA associates with IL17RC to form a signaling receptor complex for IL17 and IL17F. Ligand and IL17RA ligation promotes T cell activation and the production of IL-6, G-CSF, SCF, and multiple proinflammatory chemokines.
