The recombinant human DPEP2/Fc is a disulfide-linked homodimer. The reduced monomer comprises 585 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 65 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of the protein is approximately 43-49 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
緩沖液: Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4.
Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants before lyophilization. Specific concentrations are included in the hardcopy of COA.

MBD2 / DPEP2蛋白背景綜述

MBD2, also known as DPEP2, is a nuclear protein. It belongs to a family related by the presence in each of a methyl-CpG-binding domain (MBD). Besides MBD2, the family members also include MECP2, MBD1, MBD3, and MBD4. Each of these proteins, with the exception of MBD3, is capable of binding specifically to methylated DNA. MECP2, MBD1, and MBD2 can also repress transcription from methylated gene promoters. It is reported that MBD2 functions as a demethylase. MBD2 may function as a mediator of the biological consequences of the methylation signal.
