CCL8 / MCP-2蛋白背景綜述
C-C motif chemokine 8, also known as Monocyte chemoattractant protein 2, Monocyte chemotactic protein 2, Small-inducible cytokine A8, CCL8 and MCP-2, is a secreted protein which belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family. Highest expression of CCL8 / MCP-2 is found in the small intestine and peripheral blood cells. Intermediate levels of CCL8 / MCP-2 is seen in the heart, placenta, lung, skeletal muscle, thymus, colon, ovary, spinal cord and pancreas. Low levels of CCL8 / MCP-2 is seen in the brain, liver, spleen and prostate. CCL8 / MCP-2 is a chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils. It may play a role in neoplasia and inflammatory host responses. CCL8 / MCP-2 can bind heparin. CCL8 / MCP-2 elicits its effects by binding to several different cell surface receptors called chemokine receptors. These receptors include CCR1, CCR2B and CCR5. CCL8 / MCP-2 is also a potent inhibitor of HIV-1 by virtue of its high-affinity binding to the receptor CCR5, one of the major co-receptors for HIV-1. Graft-versus-host disease ( GVHD ) is a life-threatening complication of hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation (HSCT). CCL8 / MCP-2 is a promising specific serum marker for the early and accurate diagnosis of GVHD.
